No Show

Joel had to go belittle the proletariat at a "benefit function" with his "wife". Between that and my trip to Florida this weekend we didn't have time to do any interweb shows this week (Saturday and Tuesday are our only mutually free days).

I considered roping the ole ball and chain into doing a show with me, but I couldn't find any shows about baking bread or making babies. Since those are the only things I know FOR SURE that girls like, I quickly dropped that option.

Then I was like "Hey, I could do a show by myself!", but that would be much like sitting through Costello being a moron without Abott to smack him on the back of the head. No good.

So sorry, all venues are closed. Fast Karate will return to its regularly scheduled programming on Saturday. Expect us to talk about Koi Kaze in the near future.

Provided we don't commit suicide directly after watching it.

Well, there are any number of shows about the second thing, and I know that there's at least one show about the first thing!

Koi Kaze. When i saw the cover of the manga in animewaves. I went to check the what they have to tell about that. When I read it was like: "they gotta be kidding, right?". And because I am a researcher and look for answers I went and read it, and I discovered with horrror, that it was for real. :X
They did not pull out a Marmalade Boy on us.
If it weren't for my Saint Seiya Dvds I would not have being writting this right now.
Anyhow, I will be looking forward to your next episode, if only because I know somwhow you will make Koi Kaze funny at least for me.

Your bravery (or perhaps foolishness) in attempting to watch Koi Kaze shall not go unrewarded.

Go ahead, name any truly terrible movie. I will watch it and review it for my podcast. Any movie at all, just as long as I can feasibly get a hold of it on DVD.

Don't lie, it's unbecoming.

Listeniners, please note I did not SAY we would be talking about Koi Kaze... but now that everyone seems so excited I guess we have to.

That's cool. I got good stuff like Cromartie and Patlabor 2 also. We can watch that like a palette cleanser.

You probably mean palate, though you're certainly free to clean your palette with whatever makes you happy.

Well, I hope you're happy, now I have to go on my car trip on Friday alone and with nothing to listen to but the sound of my own failure ringing in my ears.

Dude, Yakitate!! Japan? It's a whole damn show about baking bread.

And I love what Wikipedia wants to be taken seriously as a properly-sourced repository of Meaningful Knowledge, and yet the page for Yakitate Japan is not only longer than the page for superstring theory but contains almost no attributions whatsoever.

That's too bad. I was looking forward to a new show. I'm almost through your whole backlog already (I've listened to you guys for about 4-5 hours every day for the past five days) and I'd like to hear more.

There's a single tear on my cheek, but not like I killed someone. Come home, Fast Karate. Come home.
